Announcing the 2025 Strava “Strive for More” Grant Recipients

Strava and the She Sends Foundation Announce the 2025 Grant Recipients Awarding Young Women in Mountain Biking

Strava, the app for active people, today announced the 2025 recipients of the She Sends Foundation Grant, as part of the company’s Strive for More™ initiative

Strive for More™ is a commitment by Strava to promote and support women in movement and sport. Launched in July 2022, Strava called on the global community to join the pursuit of more equity, more inclusion, and overall, more women in sports.

This year, Strava is proud to pledge $40,000 to She Sends, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering and connecting women and girls through mountain biking. The new grant program is designed to bridge the critical gap between junior development and full-time elite competition.

Beginning in the 2025 season and continuing through 2026, She Sends will award $5,000 grants to rising athletes to help cover essential costs—including equipment, coaching, and race travel. Whether applicants are chasing a World Cup cross-country dream, aiming for the Life Time Grand Prix, or pushing the boundaries in elite freeride, this program is here to support their next leap forward.

“Every next level of competition demands a next level of support. With women’s cycling on the rise, there’s a vibrant pipeline of young athletes dreaming of reaching that top tier. We are grateful for the chance to work with Strava to help fuel those ambitions and bridge the gap between junior and elite competition. We hope these grants will encourage the next generation of female cyclists to aim high and send it,” said Kate Courtney, founder of the She Sends Foundation.

She Sends is proud to announce the following recipients for the 2025 grant program:

  • Bailey Cioppa

  • Makena Kellerman

  • Elsa Westenfelder

  • Alexandra Charles

  • Terese Martens

The 2026 grant program will open October 1, 2025 for the final three grants. Individuals must be between the ages of 19 to 23 years old to apply. A link to the application and full list of requirements can be found at: https://shesendsfoundation.org/grants
