She Sends Foundation Launches New “Strive for More” Grant Program in Partnership with Strava
Empowering the Next Generation of Female Off-Road Cyclists
SAN RAFAEL, California — The She Sends Foundation is proud to announce the launch of the 2025 Strava x She Sends Foundation “Strive for More” Grant Program, a new initiative to support young female off-road cyclists in their pursuit of elite-level competition.
This grant is designed to empower young women, ages 19-22, by providing direct financial support — $5,000 per recipient — to help cover the rising costs of equipment, training, and race travel. Whether an athlete dreams of racing in the UCI World Cup circuit, competing in the Life Time Grand Prix, or forging her path in elite freeride, the “Strive for More” program offers resources to help bridge the gap between potential and performance.
“Every next level of competition demands a next level of support. With women’s cycling on the rise, there’s a vibrant pipeline of young athletes dreaming of reaching that top tier. We are grateful for the chance to work with Strava to help fuel those ambitions and bridge the gap between junior and elite competition. We hope these grants will encourage the next generation of female off-road cyclists to aim high and send it,” said Kate Courtney, founder of the She Sends Foundation.
Applicants must identify as female, be legal residents of the U.S., and meet U23 criteria per USA Cycling guidelines. In addition to financial support, recipients will gain mentorship opportunities and be expected to give back to the community by participating in a local girls’ ride or youth cycling initiative.
“This program directly supports the next generation of female talent in a discipline where representation and access have historically lagged behind. By offering some of the resources they need—we’re helping these athletes get to more starting lines across the world,” said Vanessa Hauswald executive consultant at She Sends Foundation.
Applications open June 9 and will be accepted through June 23, 2025. Grants will be awarded in July 2025 following a review by the She Sends Foundation Board of Directors and its advisory team.
